Engagement Photos for Summer Engagement Announcements
I showed up early for these summer engagement photos to take a few pictures of the beach landscape with my film camera. It was a beautiful spot on the beach, and the trees nearby offered shade from the blazing sun. Soon, there was a wind blowing, the Hawaiian air conditioning. The fluffy white clouds formed above reminded me of the shave ice I had just before coming to the beach.
Easing into the Summer
At the Aloha General Store (where you can find the best shave ice in Hawaii) a green baby gecko drank shave ice drips from the table. There is always good company on the island! Keira and Curtis were also such good company! They looked relaxed, and I loved capturing how they interacted with each other. These will make beautiful engagement announcements!
Sunset and Cloud Challenges
At the beginning of their session, I felt the tickling of a sprinkle, but just like the waves on the North Shore, the clouds come in and go out. The tricky thing about clouds is that they can hide the sun, which I need the most as a photographer! Since facing this challenge before, I knew to wait a few seconds each time to let Keira and Curtis become washed in a beautiful diffused light that gave us a soft and romantic look. The diffused light gave us some variety in their summer engagement photos.
More Variety for Summer Engagement Photos
As the clouds rolled out, I took full advantage of the glowing sunset to capture dramatic and passionate photos. Keira and Curtis are the perfect pair! They loved joking and enjoying each other’s company. One of the best feedback queues as a photographer is that my clients feel comfortable soaking up the moment together during their engagement session.
Keira and Curtis got engaged near Turtle Bay, and it was so fitting that we went back to the North Shore and photographed their summer engagement photos in the glowing sunset of Hawaii! I am truly blessed to have clients like Keira and Curtis for my first engagement session!
